Samsung Galaxy S7’s Exynos 8890 To Enter Mass Production In December Claim Sources

With 2015 slowly but steadily fading away, bits and pieces of information about upcoming devices have started to pop up gradually. At the fore front is Samsung’s Galaxy S7, expected in Q1 2016 and expected to come with a variety of interesting offerings next year. The Korean manufacturing giant, Samsung, has always been under considerable pressure from various quadrants to produce devices that not only satisfy the ever growing needs of its large customer base, but also end up being ‘innovative’ and ‘unique’ in their own aspects.

Samsung To Start Manufacturing Its Next Generation Exynos 8890 From December

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to build upon several critical features that the company introduced this year in the form of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Both the devices came exclusively with Samsung’s Exynos 7420, the Korean manufacturer’s home-grown chip, which managed to outperform other offerings in the market by a large margin.

The Exynos 7420‘s success was also fueled by Qualm's lack of focus towards the Snapdragon 810, a mobile processor that has now become synonymous with throttling issues. Both Qualcomm and Samsung are expected to raise the bar next year however, through the introduction of custom core technologies for chipsets. While Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon is expected to come with the company’s Kryo cores, the Eryngoes 8890 on the other hand is expected to feature custom Mongoose ‘M1‘ cores on board.

Today’s news relates to the manufacturing timeline of the next Exynos, and things can be expected to officially commence on the processor by the start of December this year. Mass production will take place in the company’s plant at Gihueng according to Korean industry sources, though no details have been provided on when the Exynos 8890 will be available for use in the Galaxy S7.

Taking a look at Samsung’s current launch timeline for the Galaxy S flagship smart phones, the Korean manufacturer should have the device (or devices) to be ready by March next year. There have been rumors of the smart phones seeing an early launch, but they have yet to be collaborated by multiple sources. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to feature three variants, one on the aforementioned Exynos 8890 and the other on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 7422.

Specification wise, the devices are expected to come with a 20MP rear camera sensor, an upgraded multimedia chip and design upgrades that should suffice for yet another calendar year. Samsung’s also rumored to launch the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge Plus concurrently next year, so the list of devices that we’ll get to see could be very long indeed.
